So, the makeup shots of the actors for Persona 4 recently emerged. Until I saw those, I didn’t even realize there was going to be a live action adaption of the game!
I love Persona 4, which should be pretty obvious~ What I don’t love are live action adaptions of games and anime. All of the live actions I’ve seen have been totally cringe worthy. Maybe I’m just easily bothered, but the acting in these is so bad it has me feeling embarrassed. I remember watching the NANA live action – sort of. I couldn’t even get past the first 15 minutes because the actors felt so fake and it was just awful. Hachi Nana just stood there with a goofy smile the entire time. Yeah, I know she’s an airhead, but come on! She didn’t do that in the anime. It just cheeped me out like nothing else – even clown dolls staring at me in the middle of the night. And let me tell you, that’s about is creepy as it gets. e–e
I do think the actors in their makeup do look cute~ If you haven’t already seen it, just look~
The makeup artists did a fantastic job, didn’t they? In my opinion, Yosuke looks slightly off, but meh~ That’s just me nitpicking. I also don’t look forward to see how they portray Teddie. CGI bear-man? Man in awful looking bear-man suit? Seems… horrible on so many levels. I cannot see it as being anything other than a disaster. XD I imagine it being something like this only not as terrifying and man-bear-like. Well, at least I’d hope it wouldn’t be as terrifying. If Teddie starts trying to sell cheeseburgers to the cast, you’ll know it’s a bust. e__e
The potential for horrible acting is really the only thing keeping me from watching a Persona 4 Live Action, but I will give it a chance – at least a full 15 minutes, just as I did NANA…
